Massive congratulations to everyone who took part in the rallies in 28 towns and cities the length and breadth of New Zealand. Around 7,000 of you sent a message loud and clear that we won't stand for low pay and unfair wage freezes.

Rallies took place in the following places:

On August 16 2010 the National Government introduced two new Bills to Parliament to drastically change employment law in New Zealand.

If passed the changes will take away workers' rights, remove protections, cut pay, reduce holidays and diminish access to sick leave.

Unions are committed to stopping these changes and building a New Zealand where we all enjoy fair rights at work, decent wages and access to strong public services.
